Thomas Ferguson

Thomas originally hails from South Carolina, but now resides in the Los Angeles area where he is successfully pursuing a career as a screenwriter. Thomas’ first taste of success came in 2004 when his first screenplay Beat of the Drum, an urban horror script, landed him a spot in the 2004 Script Doctor 911 workshop.

Right now, Thomas has meetings scheduled with Lionsgate (the studio responsible for Tyler Perry's films as well as Pride and Hostel), and with Simmons-Lathan (Def Comedy Jam). Both companies have expressed an interest in his comedy script, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. On Christmas Eve, a frustrated Mrs. Claus attempts to sabotage Santa's big night in an effort to get him fired!

Currently, Thomas has been accepted into the Writers Guild's Independent Writers' Caucus where emerging writers have the enviable opportunity to gain exposure by networking with industry professionals and collaborating with other independent writers.

Writing is like second nature to Thomas who has been writing seriously since college. While in school, Thomas took a freelance job writing for The Charleston Free time Magazine in his hometown. He was the paper’s sole film critic. Recently he started writing reviews for a LA-based magazine called Valley Scene Magazine, where he offers both film and theater critiques.

Thomas also completed a stint as a Fellow in Film Independent’s Project: Involve mentorship program. His second script, Mya's Truth, about a woman struggling with self esteem issues got him into Project: Involve and generated the interest of the Writers Guild.
