If you know anything about the DivaSoulSista movie philosophy, you know that this site rates movies on their ability to deliver. Not every movie is an Academy Award winner and that ‘s cool. Well, Snakes on a Plane delivers. It knows its audience and it gives them what they want: a bad ass Samuel L. Jackson and a lot of slithery snakes with lots of nasty bites! The premise is simple. After witnessing a hit by mobster Eddie Kim (Bryon Lawson), Sean (Nathan Phillips) becomes the government’s star witness against the gangster. Federal agent Neville Flynn (Samuel L. Jackson) is assigned to accompany Sean on the five hour flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles. Also on the flight are a germaphobic rapper (Flex Alexander) and his two bodyguards (Kenan Thompson and Keith Dallas). There is also a flight attendant on her last flight (Julianna Margulies) and a Paris Hilton type socialite complete with cute little dog (Rachel Blanchard).Unbeknownst to the hapless passengers of South Pacific Flight 121, Kim has loaded the plane with a crate full of deadly snakes in a desperate last-ditch attempt to keep Sean from testifying. After the Internet buzz around this movie started to heat up, director David Ellis was given some extra cash to add more snakes, more sex and more action. It was a good investment. Once Snakes gets started it doesn’t let up. The snakes attack everyone … everywhere. The movie moves well. The dialogue is predictable and sometimes stilted but that is part of the fun of a good B-movie like this. There are also a few good one liners. However, the most disappointing line in the film is the one that the teeming Internet masses demanded. Towards the end (and they do make you wait for it) Neville says “I’ve had it with these mutha bleeping snakes on this mutha bleepin plane!” They went back and added this line and it felt tacked on. This is a movie that benefits from being screened at a theatre. It isn’t because you need to see the snakes on a big screen, but you should see this movie with an audience. Several comedians in my audience had a couple well placed comments that made the movie even better. If you ‘ve
